The Five Stops on This Tour
Five stops in four hours, with enough time at each one to photograph it properly.

Cap Spartel
The northwest corner of Africa
The lighthouse, the cliff path above the Atlantic, and the point where the coastline turns toward the Strait.

Caves of Hercules
A cave mouth shaped like the map of Africa
A sea opening in the rock that looks almost exactly like the map of the continent. Your guide explains where the Hercules story comes from.

Camel Ride on Achakkar Beach
Optional, about 15 minutes
A short ride along the sand at Achakkar. Around $10 per person, paid on the spot, and easy to skip if you would rather walk the beach.

La Kasbah
The old citadel above the Strait
White alleys, the Sultan’s Palace, and a terrace looking across the water to Spain.

Old Medina & Petit Socco
Souks, courtyards and mint tea
Spice stalls, rug shops and quiet courtyards, finishing with mint tea at Petit Socco.
Inside the 4-Hour Tangier Shore Excursion
Four hours in Tangier is plenty, as long as nobody is waiting for a coach.
Private guide and vehicle
Terminal pickup included
Before all-aboard
Most ships give Tangier five to seven hours. This private shore excursion uses four of them, with your own guide and vehicle, and still leaves time to photograph each stop.
You start at Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules on the Atlantic coast, climb to the Kasbah for the view across the Strait of Gibraltar, and finish on foot in the Old Medina with mint tea at Petit Socco.
Thousands of cruise excursions run from Tangier, and not one late return. Pickup follows your ship’s actual docking time.
Your 4-Hour Itinerary at a Glance
Start time moves with your ship. The times below assume a 10:00 docking.
STEP 1
Accueil au port
Your guide waits at the terminal with a name sign. Short hello, into the vehicle, and you are clear of the port area within a few minutes.
STEP 2
Cap Spartel & the Caves of Hercules
The road runs along the Atlantic to Cap Spartel, the northwesternmost point of Africa. From the lighthouse it is a short drive down to the Caves of Hercules, where the opening in the rock is shaped like the map of the continent. There is time to photograph both properly.
STEP 3
The Kasbah & Panoramic Views
Back into the city and up to the Kasbah, the old fortified quarter above the port. You walk the white and blue alleys, pass the Sultan’s Palace, and stop at the terrace over the Strait of Gibraltar. Spain is visible on a clear day.
STEP 4
The Old Medina & Petit Socco
From the Kasbah you walk down into the Old Medina: spice stalls, rug shops and courtyards you would not find on your own. The tour finishes with mint tea at Petit Socco, the cafe square the writers of the 1950s made famous.
STEP 5
Back at the Terminal
You are dropped back at the terminal an hour before all-aboard, with time left over if you want to look around the port.

Questions Cruise Passengers Ask
Everything cruise passengers ask before they book.
Yes, for the main sights. In four hours you cover Cap Spartel, the Caves of Hercules, the Kasbah, the Old Medina and Petit Socco, with time to stop and photograph rather than jog between them.
If your ship is in port eight hours or more and you want a Moroccan lunch and a camel ride as well, take the full-day shore excursion instead.
We check your ship’s arrival on the morning and move the pickup to match. A late docking does not shorten your tour and does not cost extra. Our port access lets the guide wait inside the terminal area rather than outside the gate.
Not this one. Tangier Med is about 40 km from the city, and the transfer there and back would take too much of a four-hour window to leave proper time at the stops.
If you are docking at Tangier Med, take the full-day shore excursion instead. It is built around that transfer and covers everything on this itinerary plus lunch and the camel ride.
About 1.5 to 2 km in total, most of it inside the Medina and the Kasbah on uneven cobbles. Wear shoes you can walk in. If anyone in your group has limited mobility, tell us beforehand and the guide will route around the steepest lanes.
Yes. Skip the caves and spend longer in the Medina, add the American Legation Museum, take the Kasbah at a slower pace. Tell your guide when you meet and the plan changes.
Price, group size and flexibility. Booking direct removes the cruise line’s commission. You travel with your own guide and driver instead of a coach of forty. And the route can change during the tour, which a ship’s excursion cannot do.
English, French, Spanish and Arabic. German and Italian-speaking guides can be arranged with advance notice.
Send your ship name, port and date and we reply with a tailored quote within 12 hours.
Most bookings need no prepayment: you pay your guide on the day in cash (USD, EUR, GBP or MAD) or by card. For larger groups we ask for a small deposit to hold the vehicle. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before.
