Tour Guide Tangier is a team of 10 licensed guides in Tangier, Morocco, co-founded by Fadi Bennani. We run private Tangier tours from $25 per person, from a walking tour of the medina to a full-day city tour, plus day trips to Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Asilah and Larache, shore excursions for cruise passengers, food and cooking experiences, and multi-day tours across Morocco.
Every tour is private for your group, however many people come, with a local guide who speaks English, French, Spanish or Arabic. You choose the start time, the pace and the stops.

What you will see
Tangier City Tour: History, Culture and the Coast
Tangier has been a port since antiquity: Phoenician and Roman Tingis, then Portuguese and English rule, and from the 1920s to 1956 an international city where writers and artists came to live. A Tangier city tour walks through that history and the culture it left, Arab, Berber, Andalusian, Jewish and European. On the way your guide adds the rest: the American Legation, Café Hafa above the Strait, and the stories behind the old international city.

Yes. In one day you see a medina and a Kasbah above the Strait of Gibraltar, the coast at Cap Spartel where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean, and a city shaped by Phoenicians, Romans, Portuguese, English and its years as an international zone. It is also the easiest way into Morocco from Spain, about an hour by ferry from Tarifa.
Where is Tangier?
Tangier is in the far north of Morocco, on the Strait of Gibraltar, facing Spain across the water. The ferry from Tarifa takes about an hour, and cruise ships call at Tangier City Port and Tangier Med.
Is Tangier safe for tourists?
Yes. Tangier is a busy port city that welcomes cruise passengers and day visitors from Spain, and the usual city care applies: keep an eye on your bag in crowded souks and agree taxi fares before you ride. The main nuisance is unofficial guides offering to show you around the medina, and walking with a licensed guide keeps them away.
How many days do you need in Tangier?
One full day covers the main sights: the Kasbah, the medina and its souks, the Grand Socco, and the coast at Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules. Two or three days let you add a day trip to Chefchaouen, Tetouan or Asilah. With only a few hours, such as a cruise stop, a walking tour of the medina and the Kasbah is the best use of your time.
