The north, done properly
More than a day trip across the Strait
The ferry from Tarifa lands in Tangier in about an hour, and most visitors turn round the same evening. This tour turns the crossing into a real trip: three days on the northern tip of Morocco, where the towns are close together and every drive is short.
You start with Tangier itself, its medina and the Kasbah above the Strait. Day two is Chefchaouen, the blue city in the Rif Mountains, with the night in a riad. On the way back you see Tetouan, whose medina is on the UNESCO list, and Asilah, a small walled town on the Atlantic.
No long drives and no desert: it is the right choice for a first taste of Morocco, a ferry arrival from Spain or a cruise call of two or three days.

Arrival in Tangier
Tangier's medina and Kasbah

Pickup at the ferry port, the airport, the cruise terminal or your hotel. In the afternoon, a guided walk from the Grand Socco through the medina and up to the Kasbah, ending at the viewpoint over the Strait of Gibraltar. With time, a drive out to Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules for sunset.

Tangier to Chefchaouen
A day in the blue city
- About 2.5 h, 115 km
- Riad in the Chefchaouen medina
The road south into the Rif Mountains, then the rest of the day in Chefchaouen: Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the Kasbah and its garden, the blue lanes and the Ras el-Maa spring, with sunset from the Spanish Mosque above the town. Walkers can go on to the Akchour waterfalls, 45 minutes further, and see the town in the evening.

Tetouan's white medina and Asilah by the sea

Morning in Tetouan, the white city at the foot of the Rif: the Royal Palace square and the UNESCO-listed medina with its Andalusian crafts. Then down to the Atlantic at Asilah for the ramparts, the painted walls of the medina and the harbour. Back in Tangier in time for an evening ferry, flight or ship.

Yes. We meet you at the Tanger Ville port arrivals hall for crossings from Tarifa or Algeciras, and can drop you back there on day three.
Is 3 days enough to see northern Morocco?
Enough for Tangier, Chefchaouen, Tetouan and Asilah at a relaxed pace. To add Fes or the Sahara, look at the 4-day express or the 6-day grand tour.
Do you pick up on the Spain side, in Tarifa?
No. Pickup is on the Moroccan side, once you have crossed to Tangier.
